(Authorized permittee of Grand Teton National Park)
The Tetons are magical in the Winter. A blanket of snow makes everything stunningly different. Join us for 5 days in Grand Teton National Park where we will not only explore the park via private vehicle looking for all sorts of wildlife, we will also visit a working ranch for real western photography and enjoy a sleigh ride outing to get up close to hundreds of elk!
This workshop will start in the afternoon on Friday Jan 31, around 3pm and will end by 10am on Tuesday the 4th.
Cancellations: There will be no refunds for cancellations after August 1, 2024....unless we have someone on the waiting list who can take your place.
On this workshop we will be in search of landscape images as well as any wildlife we can find. We will be utilizing 2 different sources of tours on this workshop. 1) A private sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge will put us up close and personal with more elk that you can even imagine. They all commune in this area in the Winter. And 2) we will have a half-day on a real working farm photographing action in the snow. During both of these excursions we will have our cameras with us so we can photograph things we otherwise would not get to see.
Once the workshop fills and the vendors are paid, there are no refunds for this workshop unless there is someone on the waitlist who can take your place. We HIGHLY recommend obtaining travel insurance for this trip. Of course if WE have to cancel the workshop for whatever reason, you would be refunded.

from Jan 30, checking out Feb 4th
The workshop doesn't start until the afternoon on the 31st, but we encourage you to fly in the day before the workshop just in case of weather delays. So plan to check in on the 30th and out on the 4th after our AM shoot.
There are 2 room options: a double queen for $194 per night (has separate living area).
The closest airport is the Jackson Hole airport. Some people choose to fly into Salt Lake and then drive..... but in the winter, it is not advisable as if there is bad weather, you can't get to Jackson. Also, please do not consider flying into Bozeman. If there is bad weather, you will not be able to drive over Teton Pass to get into Jackson.
If you fly in the day the workshop starts, you will need to get the earliest flight you can get into Jackson Hole as we will start the introductory part of the workshop around 2pm. Our first shoot will be for afternoon wildlife and then sunset that evening. It is a better plan to come in a day early, just in case of weather.
You will be responsible for your transportation to and from Jackson Hole and during the workshop. Many people try to share a rental car since we have to carpool on this workshop anyway. Let us know if you wish to share a rental and we will help facilitate that.
NOTE: you will need to rent a 4-wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle for this workshop. There will be snowy and icy road patches that we will need to navigate.
It will be cold. There's just no way around that. But with the proper gear for you and your cameras, it will be an adventure worth having.
We will send out an information packet to give you an idea of everything you will need for this workshop. If you have been with us on our Yellowstone in Winter trip, it will be basically everything you used for that trip. Please be sure to ask us any questions you may have.
