Savannah, Georgia - March 25-28, 2027 - half full

A sunlit dirt road lined with blooming pink flowers and hanging moss-draped trees.

$725 Tuition only. (Does not include meals, lodging, rental car, airfare or gratuity.)

(This workshop is offered back-to-back with Darien & Jekyll Island....register for BOTH for an amazing coastal Georgia experience!!)

With this workshop you get it all - an amazing cross section of Savannah and its surrounding areas. With shoots of historic Savannah, beaches, night scenes, cemeteries, parks, and lighthouses, this is one workshop that is sure to please.
Immortalized by the best seller, 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,' Savannah is an 18th century village that lives resolutely in the present.

The city brings together an exotic history, a sub-tropical natural environment and an obvious desire to keep true to its Southern traditions.  Savannah is arguably one of the South's most charming cities with its architectural treasures, luxurious hospitality, low country cuisine and one-of-a-kind lodging.  The city offers a smorgasbord of urban as well as natural landscapes. Flower gardens, public parks and centuries old cemeteries punctuate the landscape of Savannah.  Everywhere you turn, there is something to photograph.

This workshop begins on Tuesday night with a 6:30 dinner meeting and ends Friday around 11am.

Tuition:  Full payment will hold your place in the workshop.  No refunds after October 1, 2026. (See our Policies page for our refund policy.)

NCPW STRONGLY suggests purchasing travel insurance.  Make sure any policy you get has a trip interruption component and will cover workshop tuition fees if you end up needing to cancel.

LOCAL AIRPORT:

Savannah/Hilton Head (Sav)

TRANSPORTATION:

Major car rental companies are available at or near the Savannah Airport.  Participants will need to arrange their own transportation to, from, and during the workshop.  We strongly recommend that participants share the cost of rental vehicles.  We suggest this because some shooting locations on the workshop have very limited space for vehicles and parking can be a bit of a hassle in Savannah.

FOR THIS WORKSHOP:

Accessories - No specific equipment is required for this workshop.  With that said, however, there are a couple of very important filters to possess and whose effects cannot be replicated in Photoshop.  A circular polarizer is very commonly used in landscape photography.  We also recommend a 3-stop (.9) circular neutral density filter.  There are some effects you cannot achieve without having an item such as this to block some light from entering the camera.  If you need help using these filters, just ask.

Also, since we will be doing city photography from city sidewalks, a super-wide lens would be very useful.  Consider renting one if you don't have one.  (DSLR - 10-20, 14-24, 16-35)

(Micro 4/3 - 7-14, 8-25)

Conditions - There are no extreme conditions on this workshop, but there will be a lot of walking.  Most of it is flat city walking with the exception of one sunrise on the beach.  Please bring good footwear for this trip.

WEATHER

This workshop could take you through many shooting environments, so be prepared for whatever the weather may bring.  Be sure to have rain gear for you and your camera.

Also, some areas can be buggy, so bring bug spray as well.  Wearing long sleeves and long pants can help.
