A true bucket-list item for so many photographers, the coast of Oregon is simply stunning. With coastal mountains, silky sand dunes, rough and rocky shorelines, hidden tide pools, prominent light houses, cascading rivers and majestic sea stacks dotting the coastal landscape, this part of the country is a photographer's dream. Very few places impart such a sense of place like the Oregon coast.
Join Natural Connections for five full days in a coastal photography paradise. Basing ourselves in Florence and Bandon, the workshop will cover the Newport area to Bandon. Your photos will represent an astonishing cross section of what the coast has to offer.
This workshop begins at 3pm September 24th and ends around 9am on September 29th.
Cancellation: No refunds for cancellation will be issued after Feb 1, 2026 unless we have someone on the waitlist able to take your spot. (For this reason we STRONGLY suggest you consider obtaining travel insurance for the non-refundable portions of this trip.)
Additional Fee Notice: Some of the Oregon state parks charge a small entry fee per car. We will do some carpooling which will reduce this, but please be aware of these small potential fees.

FOR THIS WORKSHOP:
**This is one of our more active workshops - we hike about 2 miles on a creek full of waterfalls and we climb several times down to the beach and back from the upper cliffs. Two of those trips are using stairs and one is down a short trail and across uneven rocks. Please ask any questions you may have about the physical requirements of this workshop.
Accessories - We do not require that you purchase any specific equipment for this workshop. With that said, however, there are a couple of important filters to possess and whose effects cannot be replicated in Photoshop. A circular polarizer is very commonly used in landscape photography. If you are not familiar with this filter, you can easily learn about it during the workshop. Also, a 3-stop or variable neutral density filter may be of use on the workshop as well.
Climate - Oregon's coastal temperature is fairly stable. The temperatures will generally range from 50-60 degrees on this workshop. Pack layers and wind/rain restistant outerwear for this trip. It can get REALLY windy and wind makes it feel colder.
Weather – This workshop could involve different shooting environments, so be prepared for whatever the weather may bring. Be sure to have rain gear for you and your camera and good sturdy footwear. Muck boots are strongly encouraged.
