Michigan is simply magical. A longtime well-kept secret of beauty that is amazing to explore and photograph. Join us on a 6-day photo workshop that will take you through tons of waterfalls and will allow you to experience and photograph the stunning Pictured Rocks cliffs. We will also get the opportunity to photograph several lighthouses as well.
The first workshop starts at 5pm Sunday, September 27 and ends at sunset on Friday, October 2. The second workshop starts at 5pm on Monday, October 5 and ends at sunset Saturday, October 10.
Cancellation: for a full refund you must cancel by July 15, 2020 as there will be no refunds after that. If you wish to cancel after that date for a refund, there must be someone on the waiting list able to take your place. For this reason, we always suggest getting travel insurance for the non-refundable parts of your trip.
NOTE for COVID: If we have to cancel this trip due to Covid considerations you will receive a full refund. We will make this decision 30 days out. Also, due to Covid, we will not have any lecture or critique time in a meeting space and we will not require carpooling like we usually ask people to do. Additionally, this workshop includes a sunset boat cruise viewing the cliffs of the Pictured Rocks. We will be required to wear face masks at all times while on or in line for the boat. If you choose not to participate in the boat tour, the cost of the boat tour will be refunded to you.

Transportation
There are 2 flight options we recommend:
1) Sawyer International Airport, Marquette, MI. This airport is 45 minutes from Munising where we will begin the workshop on the 27th and 5th. Since we will end up around Mackinac C, you will have a 2 hr and 45 minute drive back to the Marquette airport if you choose to fly in and out of here.
2) Sault St. Marie Airport, Sault St. Marie, MI. This airport is 2 1/2 hours from Munising where will start the workshop on the 27th and 5th, but it is only around an hour from Mackinaw City, where will be finishing the workshop on the evenings of the 2nd and 10th.
I will personally be flying in and out of Sault St. Marie.
Transportation during the Workshop
You will need to arrange transportation during the workshop. Rental vehicles are available at either airport. You will not need anything special in the way of type of vehicle for this workshop as the worst roads we will be on are well-maintained dirt roads.
For this Workshop
Weather - The weather should be moderate to cool this time of year. But since we are out early in the morning, you will need to make sure to pack with layers and good outerwear.
Physical Exertion - for this workshop you need to be able to descend and climb up to 200 steps and be able to hike up to 2 miles. This is not the most physically demanding workshop we offer, but you will be doing a fair amount of walking.
