AK Bears & Puffins-Lake Clark-July 20-23, 2026-full

alaska bears lake clark national park homestead lodge photography workshop

Tuition $5600 - See gallery below.

($1000 deposit due July 1, 2025.....balance due January 2026. Workshop fee does not include your roundtrip airfare to Anchorage from your home, extra lodging nights before or after the workshop or gratuity.)

This will be a 4-day, 3-night excursion to bear-country in Alaska. You will photograph coastal brown bears grazing in the meadows, running in the rivers and surf and clamming on the tidal flats.  It is a stunning thing to behold.

Summer is a PERFECT time to photograph mama bears with their new babies in their coastal habitat. You just might get the great fortune of seeing those cubs nursing as well. Plus, there are often some great opportunities for bald eagles as we go.

This trip also includes a boat excursion to photograph horned puffins in addition to this already exciting line-up....weather permitting. So this will be one AMAZING Alaska experience.

The trip tuition will cover:

  • 3 nights lodging in Lake Clark National Park
  • Multiple guided bear viewing/photographing trips per day
  • Airfare in a small private aircraft from Anchorage to and from the Lodge
  • All meals while at the Lodge
  • A boat excursion to photograph puffins....weather permitting.

(This  is a no-refund workshop once final payment is made. There will be no deposit refunds after August 1, 2025. Refunds may only be given if there is someone on the waitlist who can take your place on the trip.   Travel insurance is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.  Make sure that it includes trip iterruption coverage. Weather issues are not uncommon and can delay small plane flights from time to time. )

You are responsible for getting yourself to Anchorage and then back home after the trip.  You will likely fly into Anchorage the night before (July 19th) and stay in Anchorage and then catch the included flight to the lodge early the next morning on the 20th.   Also, plan to stay the night after the workshop ends (July 23rd) when you are flown back to Anchorage on the included flight.....unless you book a pretty late flight out that night.  Due to the common issue of weather delays in Alaska, it is not recommended to plan a flight home (or to catch another tour) the same day  we are scheduled to return to Anchorage from the lodge (July 23rd).

Also, take advantage of being in Alaska to plan another adventure or two while you are there.  Be sure to ask for any suggestions on how to extend your trip and make it THE vacation to remember!!

Take a look at the images below (click ' show more ' at the bottom to see all images).  Peruse to see the amazing photographic opportunities available to you on this trip.  This is truly one of most unique and exhilarating photographic experiences to be had.
