Join Natural Connections Photo Workshops in September on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina.
From ocean sunrises, historic lighthouses, rolling dunes, charming coastal villas and sunsets on the sound....and if we're lucky we will even get to photograph marsh birds, wild horses and black bears...oh my! We will even take advantage of any clear night skies and shoot some milky way photography as well! You will leave this workshop with a GREAT collection of photo subjects!
You will see an amazing cross-section of the Outer Banks on this trip. Of course we will explore the natural beauty of the area, but we we will photograph some pretty amazing man-made structures as well - lighthouses, bridges and piers will help to anchor some of our sunrises and sunsets.
And then there are the animals. We will be in search of the region's famous wild horses on the beaches and also be on the hunt for black bears in the nature preserve.
This workshop starts at 3pm on Sunday, September 10th and ends in the evening of Wednesday, September 13th.
Cancellation Note: The last day to cancel and receive a refund is April 10, 2023. After this date, there are no refunds unless we have someone on the waitlist to take your place. For this reason we suggest looking into travel insurance for the non-refundable portions of this trip.

Major car rental companies are available at or near the airport. Participants will need to arrange their own transportation to, from, and during the workshop. We will ask people to carpool to some of the shoots for efficiency's sake.
Accessories - we do not require that you purchase any specific equipment for this workshop. With, that said, however, there are a couple of filters that we feel are very important whose effects cannon be replicated in Photoshop. A circular polarizer is a must for landscape photography. Also, you may wish to have a 3-stop neutral density filter for getting long shutter speeds for smoothing out water shots. Additionally, you will want a really wide lens for milky way photography. If you have ANY questions about these suggestions, please let us know.
Climate - the Outer Banks in Fall can be windy....and at this time of September it could be either warm or starting to get chilly. Layers is the key. Bring a variety of clothes and definitely something for extremities - gloves, hat and scarf.
Weather -This workshop could involve different shooting environments, so be prepared for whatever the weather may bring. Be sure to bring rain gear for you and your camera gear. Please understand that we cannot guarantee night shooting as it is entirely dependant upon the weather.
Bugs - this area of the country can be very buggy if it is still warm....especially in the morning or evening. Please bring bug repellant with you for this workshop.
